Are there any tablet pcs that have a notetaking feature?

This mean that they'd have to be able to save, an ORS feature would be preferable, legible, and transferable to other computers, through the internet, etc.

I have a Toshiba portege (from a while ago, admittedly) and it does come with a function that can basically do that. I’m sure that most tablet computers will let you do this, and if not, you can find software for it that will let you.

True, but I think the better question is what the best note taking app is

Microsoft OneNote?

It’s not exactly built in, but I like it.

I use microsoft journal, you can change written word into text. You can save them as images, etc.

@rachelm57 is the writing legible and how effective is the ORS that you were mentioning (meaning the word to text function)?

I think oneNote from microsoft has this. You take the pen and write with it and it’ll turn it into letters. Not sure, check it out and see–a tablet (like a bamboo tablet from wacom) would be tons cheaper then a computer with the ability built in. Tablets run from about 89$ (for a really good quality one) to 400$ (for a huge professional one)

I have an ipad, and there are thousands of apps for notetaking!

I honestly didn’t use it very much, because I preferred typing. But I have friends with the same CPU who do. The legibility of handwriting is a little worse than pen and paper (that’s the nature of the tablet function). And the written word to text was wonderful! Even with my violently bad handwriting, it got almost all of it.
