Are there Ivy League passers at Berkeley?

RML, I don’t think you should egg LazyKid like this. Let the ignorant bloke be.

HAHAHAHAHA…

I actually enjoy your obvious lack of intellect so reflective in every single post you choose to write. Jesus Christ… what score did you get on your SAT reading section?? like 400 out of 800?? You make like the dumbest/most childish arguments EVER with others’ arguments OUT OF CONTEXT.

I actually think that this site may get boring if people like you no longer post. So, keep your dumb posts coming through the ages!

I got into Berkeley. And, if I chose to go there, I am afraid… your school would now be full of UT Austin and UCLA rejects too all of sudden HAHAHAHAHAHA
Dude, at first, I thought you were irritating/annoying/misinformed/ignorant.
Now, I think you are entertaining. LOL Reading your posts remind me of watching commercial comedians pretending to be SO DUMB intentionally… HAHAHAHAHA.

inconnu: I was trying to play with his game. And, you are right. I don’t have to play a game with him. That would only make me stupid.

Lazy Kid: the most hilarious and flamboyant clown on CC, if Cornell is for smart people, how come they accepted you? lol… So you see? Cornell isn’t what you think it is. And, no. You did not get into Berkeley. Kid yourself, boy!

**
Okay; here’s my final post for you:**

No one here is trash-talking you. We are hoping to help you understand 1) that you do not know what you are talking about and 2) that, therefore, your opinion does not amount to much!

No one here needs to beat you in debate; you are your own demise! Don’t you get it? By spouting so much non-sense, you do beat yourself. There is no debate here, just a (free) show from Ithaca’s clown.

Just in case, we don’t have to disprove you, simply, because you have not proven anything. Can you not get that? We don’t have to engage your bogus arguments and stupid claims, frankly, because it is obvious - to anyone who knows anything about academics and prestige - that you do not know what you are talking about. We are not trash-talking you. We’re simply (re)stating the obvious (which frankly does not need to be even stated in the first place…)

So, no, trash-talking is not what we’ve learned at a fine school. Ignoring people who simply don’t know/don’t get/clearly cannot contribute is something we figured out on our own – if your response is anything less than sensible.

Good bye.

Thanks for thinking that I am hilarious. I actually am a hilarious person in real life and enjoy good sense of humor.

Yes, I got into Berkeley. My school sends 25+ kids to Berk each year.

Cornell is a legit TOP 15 University in America. I don’t care what your dumb brain tells you to think. All sorts of rankings/statistics/opinions/majority’s views support my claim. (Hint: USNews’ Ranking, and the list goes on)

Berkeley is a legit TOP 25 University at undergraduate level in America. It is a damn fine school.

Bottom line?

=YOU are the clown/fool to think that Cornell is full of Berk rejects. Berkeley is like 3rd/4th best school in Cali. Cornell is a LEGIT top 15 school in the States.

Hey, at least my posts make sense and are realistic. Your posts are seriously delusional and you sound to be insane. But, funny, I admit.

Too bad. But if I stay on this forum long enough, I will continue to see your nonsensical/insane/hilarious posts anyway. You post here every day, don’t you… HAHAHA… your posts go above 2000.

While I may appear hilarious, I at least try to be hilarious while staying sensical. LOL. You, on the other hand, appear hilarious while appearing to be insane.

Just some observations of how you think based on some of your posts that I’ve seen just LAST 2 days:

You ACTUALLY think that UMICH beats Brown and Dartmouth in prestige.

You believe that Cornell is full of Berkeley rejects. Funny thing is most Cornell kids hail from East Coast, and I doubt many of them even applied to Berk. Why would anyone attend a state university paying oos tuition? I guess there are few exceptions.

You believe that Berkeley is one of the very best schools on the planet, the honor only deserving to HYPSM. When people see a person making a claim that UC Berkeley = Cornell, or Duke, or Georgetown, or Dartmouth, or whatever, they think that person’s view is a small minority.

When a person like you claim that UCB is on par with HYPSM, or it is ‘one of the very best in the world’, most people would actually think that the person making such a ridiculous claim is officially INSANE.

Your counter-arguments, nature of language, reading comprehension, etc. are so childish/ poor that your posts come out to be humorous/ dumb even if you may be intending to provoke negative/ angry reactions from those on the other side of the argument.

Who’s the clown?

YOU.

Respek…

lol this is madness…
Cornell and Berkeley are both awesome how bout that?
lets move on~

I think we are all taking university affiliation too personally.

The majority of people here are Berkeley students, so some (perhaps exaggerated) self-praise and biased comparisons are to be expected. But coming here and insulting Berkeley just epitomizes what it means to ■■■■■.

As a drunk Golden State fan once shouted during a game, You Go LazyKid! FIGHT FOR YOUR RIGHT! FIIIIGHT FOR YOUR RIGHT!!!

You sound like Andy Bernard from The Office.

(btw…i doubt anyone is reading the flamewar that you two have been having)

I think that Cornell is a decent school, i’ve grown up with the notion that it’s the lowest of the ivy’s and pretty much no one has contradicted it. I doubt the caliber of students differs but i think that Berkeley probably has more high level students b/c it is a state school and cheaper. In the end, you two boys (i think it’s just you two) need to put your ocks back into your pant…b/c no one really cares who calls who a clown or who wrote the essay above. l8ter <-----(i love doing that)

I don’t think UC Berkeley is the best university in the US…but Cornell is far below that too. I have seen many from my high school pick UCB over Cornell, i wonder why. It just is like that…Many in state students would obviously pick Berkeley over low-end ivy league schools…like Cornell

Not many would choose Cornell over Berkeley for any major, except for maybe hotel management? Now that budget cut is there, so the story could be different, but it’s just how it is. Many still think Berkeley wins over low end ivys. Too many transfers get accepted to Berkeley though. That’s…just not great

Cornell/Duke/Dartmouth/Georgetown…all are okay schools, but something’s lacking. I assume not many people know of those schools anyway…as the worldwide rankings show unlike the biased USnews one. Maybe replace them with Stanford/Harvard/MIT. Now that’s better.

Cornell is a legit TOP 15 University in America? Oh you mean by the USnews ranking haha?..well where does Cornell stand in the worldwide ranking along with other 3-4 universities?

Uhm… you can go look at any rankings. THES World rankings (British) ranked Cornell #16 in entire world. Not that it matters. Cornell has been ranked top 15 in the nation by US News for like last century consistently. All other statistics confirm this. Are you out of touch with college rankings?? If so, feel free to check 'em up. Cal has been ranked top 25 consistently over the years. At the end of the day, no matter what you think or some of your friends think or whatever, Cornell is a LEGIT top 15 college in the nation by the grand scheme of things. Anyone thinking otherwise obviously represents the minority view.

HAHAHAHA… I guess there are just more Berkeley ■■■■■■ on this forum trying to muster up every bit of last respect they can get, after getting rejected from ALL Ivies and all top private schools. Let’s face it. From Cali, if you were a truly gifted student, you would have better options than Cal to attend. (Duke, Georgetown, NU, all Ivies, Stanford, MIT, and the list goes on)

Some think that Cornell and Brown are ‘bottom ivies’. In fact, I agree. It is near the bottom the peck of the Ivy group. But, it is a feat in itself and an honor that Berk could even never come close to attaining (as a state school in Cali)

The reason it is the bottom of the Ivy group? Simple. Cornell has top 15 academics in almost all areas of academics. YET, it still is a bottom Ivy. The reason for it is simple: it is being compared to other BEST UNIVERSITIES on the PLANET like HARVARD, YALE, or PTon. Not something like friggin Berkeley. HAHA

To make it easier for those of you who JUST DON’T get it:

Cornell is like the BMW 3 series. Yes, it is prestigious, it is desirable, and has excellent reputation among consumers. But, it is not as good as BMW 7 series, M3, or whatever that may be equal to Harvard, Yale, or Columbia.

Bottom line? I would rather choose BMW 3 series (Cornell) over like Honda Accord (Berkeley). And I suspect most other people on the planet would do the same.
If you choose Honda Accord over BMW, that is fine, but you should probably know that still, no matter what you think, BMW >>>> Honda Accord.

After writing all this out to dumb it down for those who just can’t get it, sorry, if you still don’t understand, you are just too stubborn or too biased or insane, just like this RML ■■■■■.
HAHAHA

And, forget about just Cornell in the discussion. Seriously, if the cost is not a factor, most would choose ANY top privates over Berkeley, ESPECIALLY if that applicant is OOS. Berkeley is like 90% Californian. It is like 70% Asian (not being racist here) All I am saying is that it may not be very diverse.

Duke, Georgetown, Northwestern, Cornell, Brown, Dartmouth, Penn, etc >> UC Berkeley.

HYPSM >>>>>>> UC Berkeley.

Damn…
truth hurts

LazyKid, what’s your major?

“Not many would choose Cornell over Berkeley for any major, except for maybe hotel management? Now that budget cut is there, so the story could be different, but it’s just how it is. Many still think Berkeley wins over low end ivys. Too many transfers get accepted to Berkeley though. That’s…just not great”

@ 33hours: What’s wrong with transfer students? I think the transfer system (CCC -> UC included) is perfectly legitimate. It allows those students that weren’t emotionally/psychologically mature in high school to have a second chance to turn things around. Of course, this isn’t always the case. Some just dislike their school during their freshman year for example and want to switch.

However, in terms of CCC transfers, the majority did very poorly in high school. I’ve worked extremely hard (school + work + volunteering + clubs) at my CCC to do my best to get into Cal even though I dropped out of high school. It’s naive to assume everyone can work up to the same level in high school when our brains are still developing and at vastly different rates.

Btw, I apologize if I took your post out of context. It just seemed to me that you were sort of bashing tansfer students. My bad if that is not the case.
