I have seen so many scholarships that are for "underrepresented" people, i.e. blacks, and hispanics. Are there any scholarships for only white people, or is it major taboo?

Yes- but they’re generally coded as going to graduates of (overwhelmingly white household) or from (overwhelmingly white county).

Plus, there are many, many, many without any kind of racial component.

Many groups( churches, high school alumni, Elks, Lions, Eagles etc…)
offer scholarships that do not have race as a component.
I daresay well over the numbers of those that do.
If you are having trouble finding scholarships, look for those with a local connection.
Associated with where your mother works or perhaps your fathers fraternity?

Most black and Latino (and probably Native American) people in the US have some white ancestry, so a scholarship for white people would not exclude that many of them from competing for it.

Even though there are scholarships for specific ethnic groups, that won’t be the only criteria for being selected to win the scholarship. Just focus on looking for scholarships that don’t have an “ethnic” criteria and those will be the scholarships that you will be eligible for.

Many (in fact, most) scholarships don’t use ethnicity or race as a factor. Feel free to apply for any of those.

That should be HIGH SCHOOLS not households… I don’t know where my brain has been lately :o

The answer to the question is (sadly) “yes”.
