How does this stack up to gain admission to JHU BME Program (and also any chances for Merit? Very good ECs, my SAT is 2190 - 690 CR 720 M 780W - will be taking ACT in september)?

You seem to have taken a fairly average schedule. I have never seen a course called “SAT prep” though…much less for a grade.

Your transcript and scores won’t kill your application but admissions won’t salivate over your application either.

Will your guidance counselor be checking the “most rigorous curriculum” box on your application? If you will have taken 5 APs, and most top students at your school take about the same number, you are ok; if top students take 10 APs, it will hurt you.

Another item that may hurt is that you did not take the most rigorous math curriculum, and you are applying to a very tough major–BME at JHU is very popular and your competition will have taken more rigorous math classes.

What will your LORs say about you, other than you got an A in class? In what way will you distinguish yourself from other applicants–have you done some unusual extra curriculars, or will you have a unique essay?

@boysx3 thanks! very informative. Yeah, my ECs are my golden ticket I believe. Most kids will have taken about 6/7 APs that are the top of my class so I mean im still top 10%. And My teachers actually really like me, at least the ones that Im asking and Ive gotten them to write me letters before for internships and both were sublime. They were amazing, especially my biology teacher, and my math teachers glorified how I think out of the box in math and how I help others learn and how she said even I was one of the highest achievers she had. Im not sure if this coupled with a hopefully high MIIC score will overlook my low math rigor. Also, I have done some biomechanical kinematics research as well and will hopefully be published in the fall, so I dont know if that would help either.
