Physics: 700
Math 2: 620
I was expecting much better but my prep was terrible (i only had two weeks to prep) and now Im debating whether to send my scores or not.
Im applying to all the Ivy’s, however the SAT 2 is ‘recommended’ but not required for these programs.
Should I send these scores or give in my application without them?
Keep in mind I cannot repeat.
What is your intended major? What is your unweighted high school GPA? What state or country are you from?
SAT II aren’t “required” but rest assured almost all the students applying to the Ivies will have them.
I’m currently giving A Levels with 3 A’s. My predicted grades are 3 A*'s. Would these scores compensate for SAT II?
I’m an international student, our school doesn’t calculate GPA but I’m in the top 3%. I’m applying for architecture.
I read on the websites of one of these schools (can’t remember which but I think it was Harvard) that they look for scores at or above 700.
But that’s not a solid barrier and being a little below the soft cutoff for something like this won’t disqualify you from the admissions process. It’s really going to come down to whether the rest of your application can make up for it and set you apart
I would not report a 620 in math to any highly selective colloege. Your application will look better without it.
is the physics score worth reporting?
A Physics score of 700 is 63rd percentile of test takers, who mostly are applying to top tier colleges.
Those scores are on the low side for Ivies.
The comment about 7xx is older and generally meant one could probably do the college work. But it’s by no means enough to get admitted. For architecture, you can’t reasonably omit either score. There will be lots of UK applicants with all pieces in place.
But if you’re thinking Ivies, you’ve got to know the picture they’ll look at is much more than citing a few grades.
You want to major in architecture? Have you made sure that all the schools you’re thinking of applying to have architecture majors?
going to an IVY school isn’t a self worth measure of anything
