Are transcripts requested for post-undergrad internships?

Just earlier today, I just completed an in person interview for a post-graduate internship. However, the only pre-screening that the company did prior to the interview was based on my resume, which had my cumulative GPA, major GPA and work experience. The company seemed to suggest that there would be a second round interview. Is it likely that this company will want to see unofficial transcripts if I move forward, or is it enough that I have already successfully obtained my degree?

I’ve had to submit transcripts (both unofficial and official) in later stages of hiring processes since graduating college. Some companies just want to be certain that you didn’t lie on your resume; typically they won’t ask for transcripts until they are ready to move to the offer stage. I see it comparable to drug tests and background checks… they aren’t going to bother unless they’re serious about you. If you’re asked to submit your resume, it will probably be in the next couple of weeks.

Out of curiosity, what kind of internship is it, and what led you to go down this route instead of looking for a FT job?

@chrisw

The internship is a full time finance internship because I majored in economics with courses in accounting and statistics. This internship often leads to a permanent offer upon completion. I am also applying to actual jobs but am including internships for recent graduates to increase my chances of getting something sooner.
