Are we 90's kids?

<p>People on this forum were probably born from late 93-early 95, and this has been bugging me for a while: is our age group considered 90's or 00's kids? Like, I remember a lot of the 'classic' 90's stuff, like the corny I know what you are but what am I thing to the shows like Keenan and Kel and Boy Meets World, but then again I didn't do stuff like play Oregon Trail at school. It also helps that I have genuine 90's kids siblings (both born late 80's) so I was exposed to a lot of the stuff for which people get nostalgic.</p>

<p>However, we had our true (5-9ish) childhood years in the 00's, so we obviously have to be at least partial 00's kids. I would posit that we are 90's/00's hybrids, not fitting neatly into either category. What say you?</p>

<p>PS: Why is being a 90's considered so desirable? It's not like it makes you cool or anything. I always hear kids who were born in 1998 saying that they are 90's kids, and I just go "what. -_- You weren't a conscious human being until 2003/2004."</p>

<p>There’s nothing great about being a 90s kid, or a 00s kid, or an 80s kid. You are a 90s kid if you liked were/are into 90s stuff. I played Oregon Trail, watched Courage the Cowardly Dog/Dexter’s Lab/Invader Zim/etc. so I’m a 90s kid.</p>

<p>In the next decade, it’ll be cool to have been a 00s kid. After the next decade, it’ll be cool to be a 10s kid, and so the cycle goes on and on. So as dfree124 put it, it doesn’t make a difference.</p>

<p>I am definitely a '90s kid. In my opinion, anyone born in/after '97 is not a '90s kid as by '00, they would be just three and would have only started recognizing the things around you.</p>

<p>PS: Ten years from now, I will jump from a cliff if the '00s aren’t considered desirable. People will be touting it as the generation of the iPhone, Facebook and Revolutions.</p>

<p>The truth is, each generation considers its past to be the best and most desirable ;)</p>

<p>I’m pretty sure being a 10s kid won’t be cool - don’t ask me to justify that because I can’t, but the world’ll probably have gone to sugar by then.</p>
