what are you guys being for halloween?

The optimist wants to say “no, you’re never too old to go trick or treating, everyone likes candy” but in reality, I kind of get annoyed when teenagers come knocking at my door for Skittles. I can say, for a fact, that it is much less endearing to see 15 and 16 year olds dressed as witches and ghosts than it is to see small children and toddlers dressed up.

I went as a cow when I was a sophomore, nobody looked at me or my friends weird.

Nothing junior year, probs busy doing APUSH or something.

This year, I’m going to Chipotle for $3 burritos for Halloween.

i just buy the candy now LOL

@malaise - Is that a nationwide thing? I’ve never tried Chipotle… the kids at my school swear by it. Oooh. Burritos. I love burritos.

Eh, I think it’s weird if you’re over 12 or so. The last time I ever did it was fifth grade. But you’re never too old to sit at home and stuff yourself with cheap candy.

yep, plus you can invite a friend over to watch a scary movie and help you answer the door for cute little kids

I don’t think it’s weird to still go trick-or-treating, but you’d never see me personally go do it.

One Halloween when I was smaller I went trick-or-treating without a costume on. When people asked me what I was I said I was a badass.

^Haha

Are any of you actually going trick-or-treating tomorrow?

no. I’ve always lived in a neighborhood filled with old people, so there’s no one to go with. And I don’t like going to someone else’s neighborhood.

No

10 char

There’s obviously an age limit. Can you imagine trick or treating as a 40 year old (without kids).

@Repede - Me.

I’m going (I’m 17) with my sister and her friends (they’re 14).

I’m staying home to watch the scariest thing of all. My APUSH grade changing on my online gradebook.

Haha, I don’t think so. Unless you’re too cool to go, in which case I’ll eat all your candy for you

I’m a senior this year and a lot of my classmates are going as well; for most of us it’ll be the last year we spend in our hometown and it’s a little nostalgic roaming the candy hotspots of bygone days.

Whatever you decide to do, have fun and stay safe!

I’m a freshmen and I’m not going. I got a lot of weird “aren’t you too old for this” looks last year when I went with my friends. So I’m just having a friend come over to help me pass out candy! (:

What annoys me are the teenagers who go without costumes and just pillowcases basically demanding candy. Then it’s just weird.

I went trick-or-treating through middle school. My costumes got progressively more badass. In sixth grade I had duct tape Greek armor, and by eighth grade I had progressed to a pretty accurate duct tape and cardboard replica of some Elven armor from Lord of the Rings, plus a wooden shield.

I’m in college now (yeah, sorry for creeping on the high school boards; I apparently have nothing better to do), and last year I shaved my head so I could be Aang from Avatar: the Last Airbender. (I’m a girl, btw.) My head got cold.
This year I have a really cool idea for a pterodactyl costume, but I’m in Germany and Halloween isn’t really a thing here, so it will have to wait until next year…

If you have to ask the question, you’re too old to go trick or treating.

I’m a parent, and this is what I think as well. Also, I don’t like it when older kids come really late–like, after 9:00 p.m. If you’re wearing a costume–especially if it’s a funny one–I don’t mind giving you candy, even if you’re a teenager. If you aren’t wearing a costume, I will give you the bad candy.
