Are you freaking serious?

From 9/1/10 to now, I've already exceeded my bandwidth for the month.

How is this possible? I watch a lot of netflix. Is this enough to do this? (If so, that's absurd.)

Or is something wrong?

also occasionally watch hulu, and skype my girlfriend for long hours.

I think it’s probably the Skyping–that eats up the bandwidth limit.

If you stream movies from Hulu and Netflix… that’s why! Skype shouldn’t be too much of a problem if you don’t do video call (which I assume you also do a lot)…

a two hour movie about 1.8 gigs, if you want hd movies then its about 3 gigs for two hours.

Alright, well, I can stop watching netflix, but I can’t stop skyping. (Long distance relationship, and I most certainly do use the video chat.)

This is lame.

I think keeping the video chat is good  20 GB should be enough for 3 weeks? paying a bit extra for the 1 week usage shouldn’t be that bad… :)

control/need issues much?

its college…do you really HAVE TO see each other daily?

wow 20 gb and u went over? jeez you got to control these things. ditch the girlfriend. long distance relationships dont end up well anyway.

^ ouch… hahaha

yeah im surprised you went over. ive dl two seasons of tv shows from itunes, haven’t gone over.

use dc++, it has most things you would stream off netflix

sometimes I am just plain suspicious about how they count this. I have watched probably about 10 shows on Hulu, plus a movie, skyped a few times, downloaded at least one TV show, and I have barely used any of my limit. when I used to do the same thing two years ago I would be up toward the limit almost every month. my computer and ipod are registered properly and I always sign in under my name for red rover secure. it’s really mysterious.

I’m pretty sure the bandwidth limits are a full 10 GB higher this year than 2 years ago, so that could be contributing to it.

RileyJohn,

skype eats up a lot more bandwidth than other video chat programs. im also in a long distance relationship and we use AIM. i have never had a problem (other than this one time i streamed too many shows) even though we video chat basically whenever we’re online.
