To those of you accepted to NYU regular decision, have you decided if you are going or not?

For me, I really want to go ... I dream about it. But, I need to a) see my financial aid package, b) visit the campus, and c) see what other colleges I get into on March 31st or April 1st.

I have been told that if you take more courses (18 credits max.) and finish early, you won't have to spend 50K for senior year, since the college can only charge you up to 12 credits max., any extra will be free tuition.

I'm right where you are sansri88.
tuanducngo, is that true?

By the way, I could use 10 bucks from anyone. Seriously, I need to start a bank account and figure out how to pay for college. Anything will help.

Clairetine, which one are you asking about? The "no green card/no aid" or "18 credits/same tuition"?

Without a green card, no matter how long you have lived in U.S, you're still considered by college as international [on a visa] and international students are very unfortunate with financial aid.

About the credits, a typical year has 12 credits per semester (24 credits per year). NYU charges ~$35,000 flat rate for 24 credits per year, if you take max. 18 credits per semester (so 36 credits per year) the tuition will be the same. If you take more than 18, then you have to pay additional tuition for those credits.

It's most likely going to be between NYU and GW. NYU has been my dream school since I was in 6th grade, but I want to major in International Relations and GW is really strong in that. So it will come down to money most likely.

I am in the same boat as you Juliana. Both NYU and another school have very, very good programs for what I want to do. I LOVE NYU so I am really hoping they offer me nice aid.

tuanducngo--I didn't know that about tuition/credits ...

Dare7to7Dream-No, I'm not international. But, I still need money.
Juliana9, I applied to GW too. I'm really interested in Political Science, however NYU is also my dream school. I don't think I have it in me to turn it down.

By the way, Leylash522, the financial aid packages will probably come with our official acceptances letters around April 1st? Or no more than a week or so after that. I'm really excited for that big envelope in the mail! I'm just going to sit at my doorstep and read every word.
