we have a nice FA package at AU and we are going to visit the place in 2 weeks .After we will decide if it’s the right choice for my D…(we love Washington DC , i hope we going to love the campus as well!)

AU’s campus is beautiful this time of year. My entire family was very impressed.
Just curious–what other schools is your D considering

My S said “Yes!” We paid his deposit online last night. He is going soon to the Presidential Scholars overnight event at AU on 4/23. We’re hoping he still loves it and doesn’t have a change of heart. If he does, he’ll still have GWU and UNC in his back pocket…at least until May 1st.

At this point I don’t think so. I have been accepted into 6/7 schools and although American was one of my top choices my aid packages from my other choices were better. Can you believe I got more money from NYU than American?

At first it wasn’t near the top of D’s list but now it is…all in all the $$ was excellent compared with other schools of comparable cost and the premed options and internships in the city are great. So, what was first a “probably not” is now a “strong maybe”!!!

^ the same for my D, at the beginning she didn’t even want to consider AU an option, just a far safety in case of… but now she is looking at it differently first because all the nice schools waitlisted her and the others 3 left don’t have the " all around" that AU has: great location, good package, nice internships, varieties of majors, and good security!! what else am i asking for in a college? we are satisfied.

My D is honored to gain admittance to AU but they offered ZERO in merit aid and another school offered merit aid. I can’t imagine what some students do that were accepted to all the schools they applied to. They must be out of their minds by now. We are having a tough enough time deciding on three schools that offered admission to My D…Good luck to all!

Yes. Picked it over GW and NYU. SIS.

My DS and I will be there on the 23rd as well. He is heavily considering AU due to the $27K Presidential Scholarship.

La Vie,

Any decison for your daughter yet?
Let us know how your visit goes.
We were supposed to go for Freshman Day this weekend, but because of a change in my son’s soccer schedule, we can’t make it…we are trying to switch some other things around so we can go next weekend instead.

In any event, my son will be at AU in the fall because he applied and was accepted ED.

boySX3,

we are still debating about schools… I like a lot AU because it has a lot to offer and the location is fantastic! we’ll be visiting on the 24th(freshman day) I hope she’ll like it!! only 2 weeks left before taking the “real” decision. i have to admit i am a little anxious about the whole college experience( like a lot of moms!) At the same time i’m glad she has to leave home and be responsible for herself and be independant… i hope you will be able to see the college soon. It’s good your S already knows where he is going,i t makes the whole process much easier. i hope to see you on the 24th if not maybe in the fall!best wishes!

My D debated about attending AU last year. She was admitted to SIS, and wanted to be an International Studies major. She ultimately chose a different school, a small LAC, and is very happy. More to the point though, now that she is almost through with her freshman year, she has completely changed her mind about her major, and I am relieved she didn’t choose to attend SIS after all. How easy is it to change schools at American? Those of you who are considering it may want to know in the event you chnage your minds about your intended path.

You can change after first-term grades are in. It just requires a couple of signatures.

See you guys on the 24th :).

Can’t make accepted students day/s for the revisit but it looks like AU. It has been a hard decision but the $$ is better there.

Does anyone know how to decline the acceptance??

There’s a postcard in your admission folder designed for that purpose.
