I really wish I could say it's a done deal, but for me I have to wait for other colleges, to see what kind of FinAid packages I get. It would be really hard to turn it down though, and I can't reasonably see myself doing that. Anyone else?

I wish I could say it was a done deal. I'm pretending like it is, waiting until my semester ends, and picking up a job three or four days a week.

I'm also dropping a few colleges off my list, however I'm keeping a few on to see if I get money.

My mom didn't say anything when I go in! She was probably thinking "OH God, how is she going to pay for this?!?!"

But after this roller coaster...I feel like nothing can or should stop me!

I'm not going for sure, but it is definitely at the top of my list. It all depends on if I get really good financial aid from somewhere else. However, for the time being, it looks like Georgetown University Class of 2009!

Also, as Manderz said, I was able to drop many colleges off my list (like USC, ugh). This acceptance totally saved my Christmas Break! I would have had to do all of the applications that I have been puting off during my break.

Calidan, I know EXACTLY WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT!

I was dreading deferral a) because I am head over heels in love with Georgetown and b) I haven't really started my other apps...

now I'm eliminating NYU, American, and maybe Penn!

right. I'm eliminating GW, because there's no need for another school in DC

Hey Manderz- I can't decide whether I should eliminate Penn or not. Any help? Do you know if they give good FinAid?

Calidan- I, too, decided to eliminate Penn. I'm now down to Yale, Stanford, Brown, UVA and Tufts. (So all I have to finish are UVA and Brown!)

But to answer the question, I'm 90% sure I'll go to Gtown. I really can't imagine going elsewhere, even if I miraculously happene to get in at one of these schools. So as Calidan said, for now it seems like Georgetown University, Class of 2009!! Hell yeah, baby!!!

I agree with all of you, pretty much. I dropped Harvard and Brown from my list, because I would rather go to Georgetown. And unless I get a full ride somewhere else, I am 95% sure I will see all of you guys in September! We will definitely need to have a CC reunion there.

Lauren, that's exactly my take. It just seems like there's no reason to try elsewhere, because this is exactly where I want to be. Say this out loud: "I am a HOYA!"

I'm still freaking out. Anyone else?

And yes, we defnitely need to have a CC reunion!! IT would be so cool to meet all of you HOYAS in person!!!

Hey guys!! Woot! We did it! I'm 95% sure I'll be going. I have a full-ride, and I'll get the best of both worlds--excellent military training as well excellent international schooling. Time to start building my wardrobe... And if the guy I'm head over heels for goes to Catholic U for grad school, how much better would that be?

And yes, we'll definitely have to have a meeting. At a cool coffee shop, feeling all sophisticated... :)

DEFINITELY FREAKING OUT!!!!!!!!!

Dan,
Not sure about Penn...I'm thinking about dropping it because compared to their student body, I am not likely to get a merit scholarship..But I'd like to try and apply to one Ivy League just to say oh yeah "Penn wouldn't take me" or "I got accepted" (lame, I know).

I'm really having trouble deciding who I want to knock off my list- so if you find anything out by means of whether or not Penn is good, let me know!

I'm knocking Notre Dame off list. Hey, its a great feeling when something "wants" you back, so right now, Georgetown seems number 1.
