^^^ that makes two.

rmadden, if you were talking about how I wrote my "you"s with a "u" I really don't think that is considered typing incorrectly...

^No, but it's annoying...

'nuff said.

but seriously, magnet, do u call urself a roman catholic just because or do you actually follow it ?
Not to get snippy, but "magnet" is a really unattractive shortening of my screen name.

Furthermore, why on earth would I claim to be Roman Catholic "just because"?? That's completely inane. From first grade on I was raised Catholic and have been confirmed. Jesus, Scripture, and tradition are all an important part of my life. But - for the millionth time now - no one LITERALLY NEEDS the Bible to survive. Geez. I am not going to die of Bible deprivation.

And for that matter, the Bible is not the spiritual center of Roman Catholicism. Try, oh, you know, JESUS and the Eucharist.

...I really need to stop getting so worked up on online forums. :p But having my faith - a deeply personal matter - called into question by someone on College Confidential, of all places, irks me. Just a little.

^Makes sense...and irks me too. :)

Yes powerbomb. While I agree typing in all lower case, saying "u" instead or you, and not following grammar rules is perfectly fine on Myspace and Facebook, on this site, where people are generally more mature and serious about there posts, you should not type like that. This is a "smart-site", and typing like you don't care or don't understand gives of a vibe opposite to the purpose of this site, making you sound annoying and dumb, while in reality you are not....I think.

Eh, that's overdoing it. A couple u's and such, it's completely understandable, it's not as if the post was something like:
y0 m4n h0w u du03un n4 s3x i n33dd da mulaz ma niga 02 oxn
or anything. I haven't seen the other dude's post so I don't know to the degree; but even if this is an intelligent forum a couple abbreviations and misspellings, and etc; even capitalizations are perfectly fine. Usually it's just the person getting too fastidious about trivial nonsense...

Raised Roman Catholic, and I like a lot of aspects of Catholicism, but I'm probably more Unitarian Universalist in thought, which is essentially a drawn out way of saying I'm up for new things.

I am a Christian.

If you are Christian, please explain how you can believe in the whole "god created the world in 6 days" when evidence on the contrary exists.

From what I've heard, one "present-time day on earth" is roughly equivalent to 1,000 years in God's "creating time." (I'm sure I've worded that a little strangely, but whatever-I'm tired. :/)

Haha! That post made my day :p

For example, in the Old Testiment, slavery was not condemed, but in the New Testiment it is.
It seems to me the mere fact that Moses had to try to get Pharoah to free the Jews implies that the Old Testament doesn't endorse slavery. Why would they need to be freed if slavery were thought to be okay? Much like in America (and other countries, of course), while slavery was widely practiced, people still put forth the effort to stop it because it was a damning custom.

yoyoyo let me just pull out this Human to God time conversion chart. I can't really see how anyone past a third grade education can by that lolol

^^^How can someone BUY it? Faith, I guess... lolol :/ [FWIW, measurements of time differ on different planets/moons (i.e. length of days/years), so I don't see how other time measurements could be outside the realm of possibilty.]

^I was always taught that God doesn't have a sense of "time", but that "time" was a concept invented for us as humans.

^Interesting-I've heard different opinions on that.

^^ Why, was he stupid?

Just Kidding.

We're like spiritual twins or something, haha. :)

Agnostic....

(oh, and has anybody seen the movie Jesus Camp?)

Yes, and like most documentaries it only shows one side of a controversial topic.

Religion was conceived as a primitive science, and in the modern age undergoes serious revisions every half-century in an attempt to stay relevant. Every ten years there's another part of the Bible or Kor'an or whatever that you no longer have to take literally. It's absurd.

Is there really some invisible man in the sky, always watching everything you do? It's like Santa Claus revisited or some children's tale.
