Are you supposed to receive a confirmation email after submitting?

<p>Yesterday, at around 8PM PST, I was trying to submit my supplemental essay and was unable to log in for the entire hour. I emailed NYU at around 8:45PM PST (11:45EST) and explained my circumstances, attached my supplemental via Word, and sent the email along its way. It was only at around 9PM when I remembered that if I submitted by 11:59PM at my local time, the application would still be valid. </p>

<p>Finally, after about two hours of trying to log in, I was able to access my Common App at 10:30PM. I successfully copied and pasted, and submitted my supplemental. However, I received NO confirmation email from NYU. Instead, I received a reply to the email I sent to NYU with my supplement saying:</p>

<p>"Your NYU application is incomplete. We understand you may have had a technical error while trying to submit. We will extend the deadline for you, please submit by the end of the day today. Thanks again for applying!</p>

<p>Thank you,
NYU Undergraduate Admissions"</p>

<p>This came about 5 hours ago and I submitted around 11PM my local time which is more than 12 hours ago. There are two green checks next to my NYU application so I'm confident I did indeed submit. However, receiving this email is a bit worrisome. The Office of Admissions is closed today so I can't call or make sure I submitted.</p>

<p>I received the same email from NYU yesterday morning and was able to submit my application around 11PM. I didn’t receive a confirmation from NYU either and their website states that a confirmation email will be sent 3 weeks after the deadline date. Also, Commonapp stated on their twitter account that their member colleges will accept applications submitted on Jan 2nd, so I guess we will be fine.</p>
