Are You Waiting For UT's Admission Decision?

Got accepted today as transfer to Computer Science program! I submitted my application on January 15 so it was a very long wait. Coming from UH with cumulative GPA of 3.21

Congrats to those who got in and good luck to those waiting!

Congrats tmagent17

thank you guys. I am very happy! let cross the fingers for you now!

I think I should focus on school rather than checking mystatus a million times a day.

Yup! You are so right.
I’m going to make a straight A’s and raise my GPA again, but I don’t know how to stop checking my status every hour.

Finally I am accepted. Soooooooooo excited!
After the spring semester ended, I sent UT my transcript on May 17th, and they received it on 18th. My GPA remains 4.0. And I got accepted this morning.
Good luck to all of you still waiting.

Trying to transfer to college of Natural Science, 1st choice biology, and 2nd choice nursing.

Hi all- Recently became a Texas Resident and been residing in TX for about a 1.5 yrs now. Straight from the east coast New Jersey where I got bachelors degree in accounting at a small 4-year college, a degree which means nothing to me but only a salary to live on, useless degree so have decided to switch to the sciences, more specifically, biology and then medical school. I am interested in the Human Biology concentration at UT and have been eyeing it since I came to know about this year January 2012 and decided to apply for Spring 2013 Transfer Student, Texas Resident, Academic Fresh Start. I applied on 5/14/2012 with all application, transcripts and essays through applytexas.org, all forms and parts completed as of 6/1/2012 for Spring 2013. My question is: when or what month do you usually receive a response from UT admissions for Spring 2013 Transfer Student applicants?

Please let me know any info you can give as I am new to Texas and the UT system. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Do you guys think that changing majors twice would affect the decision? I changed my second major choice a week ago and I want to change it again but I am thinking that perhaps it would affect me negatively.

Thoughts?

For all you freshman that got accepted—way to go! I talked with a UT counselor today and he stated that if you are not an auto-admit the admission rate is only 14%. That is pretty steep odds. So if you were one of the non-auto-admits and still got selected you obviously worked hard, had a good application and maybe even a little luck. Great job and good luck in Austin!

My son is only a junior and will be applying in August. He is not an auto-admit (top 7%) so he is going to need an awesome application and some luck. He will be an academic admit to A&M but he really wants to attend UT.

@tmagent17 Not to sound harsh or anything but holy crap only a 3.21GPA? That’s really surprising. That makes me feel much better about my stats. Anyway congrats!

I’m still waiting for this semester to finish so I can send in my second transcript. I have about four weeks left including finals and it takes about a week for my grades to be posted. I should have at least a 3.5 but I will likely have a 3.62ish GPA. Trying for Film but I put UGS as my second choice.

My situation is similar. I am finishing at a cc with associates and 3.965 GPA. However, I have calculus 2 in progress, thus, I won’t hear from admission until I submit my final transcript, isn’t that correct? I am just concerned could they run out of space for me in petroleum engineering department?

Heard back from UT last night. Very pleased to be accepted. Not so pleased about the prospect of taking out 25K in loans each year to finance my undergrad. I hope everyone here who applied was accepted. Best of luck

@emersongarcia definitely better than 50k loans at baylor :frowning: trying to leaveeeeee
