Are You Waiting For UT's Admission Decision?

I am now waiting for the admission decision from UT Austin.
I know I probably would not hear anything until April, but I still check the status page everyday (I know I am silly), hoping that one day magic just happens. LOL...
If you have also applied to transfer to UT, let's share information here as soon as got anything from UT.
Here is mine:
"You application: Fall 2012 Transfer Admission COMPLETED. Majors: Unspecified Business (Transfer).

@ NOCHICKY-
I know what you’re saying. They just finally updated mystatus today showing that they received all my transcripts. I have been freaking out since the 1st since it was the deadline and they have been telling me not to worry that some of the paperwork just hasn’t been entered yet. That didn’t make me feel any better though. :frowning: But, I’m a little more comfortable now. We’ll just be playing the waiting game now!

Transferring from ACC (premed) with 3.83 gpa
1st choice: Biomedical Engineering (Cockrell)
2nd choice: Biology (College of Natural Sciences)

my friend got into biology from acc with a 3.6 gpa from acc
so im pretty sure ill get into UT austin but getting into engineering is what im worried about.
i really want to just get into it without having to worry about transferring internally

Yeah, they just updated my transcripts too! Around when will we hear back?

I would been freaked out too If I were you.

Mystatus just updated saying they received my scholarship application and decision would be made after UT admission decision.

@ notacatalyst
Based on the previous semesters admission, I believe we will start to hear something in the beginning of April.

@ Locness
I think with a 3.83 gpa you have a good chance of getting into engineering

Everything was complete about 5 days before the deadline.
Transferring in from a community college, 3.74 gpa
1st: Biomedical Engineering
2nd: Electrical Engineering

Of course, I’m very anxious. Let’s keep this thread going and see what happens come mid-April!

Good luck to all…we’ve been working hard for this.

hey everyone…
I have a 3.7 transfer gpa…my first choice major is geosciences and my second choice is liberal arts…my essays are average…can anyone tell me my chances?

PS…The anxiety is killing me

I have heard unofficially, someone get into the college of natural sciences with a 3.4 gpa. I’m applying to CNS with a 3.6. I haven’t received a decision yet… so i know what you mean :(. I think you will be just fine though.

…and I’m talking about transfers by the way.

Does anyone know the deal with GPA? I currently have a 3.59 at my OOS (Georgia State). I’ve looked through the UT catalog and calculated my GPA of the classes that will likely be “transferrable” to UT. Now will the GPA they use be the GPA of ALL of my classes (3.59) or just the courses that they offer? My GPA drops about a point and a half if it’s just the classes they will take. I found this on the site which leads me to believe it will essentially be our current GPAs, just on their scale:

“Evaluation of individual courses taken at out-of-state institutions is not available over the phone, in person, or by e-mail. Specific course evaluations and decisions about the transferability of individual courses are made only after an applicant has been admitted.”

Second: If anyone has an idea of my chances that would be really helpful as well. Thanks

Stats:
3.59 GPA
64 credits
1 letter of recommendation
Decent resume (good work history thru hs/college and a few hs EC)
SOP Essay about film and why their program is for me
Issue essay: 1.5 pgs about history of Iran-US (Op AJAX) and how it relates to the current conflict.

1st choice: Communications RTF
2nd choice: Undergraduate Studies

Thanks a lot.

I only know the admission for out of state transfer students are even more competitive. Less than 10% of students who apply eventually get accepted.

@Falcon8r,

they will use your cumulative GPA. So, all of your classes, not just the ones you’ll get credit for.

@mnaacd AWESOME. thanks for clarifying that for me.

I believe that is incorrect information you are giving him/her.

Please see: [2. Admission, page 2 | General Information, 2007-2008 | Registrar | University of Texas at Austin](http://registrar.utexas.edu/catalogs/gi07-08/ch02/ch02b.html)

Quote:
"A transfer applicant’s grade point average on transferable college coursework is a significant indicator of the applicant’s academic strength. Because the Office of Admissions considers academic background as a factor when making transfer decisions, the grade point average can play an important role in an applicant’s final admission decision.

The admission grade point average is computed on all transferable college coursework the student has undertaken, whether passed, failed, or repeated. The grade point average is computed on a four-point scale: a grade of A counts as four points a semester hour; a B, as three; a C, as two; a D, as one; and an F, as none. Grades awarded on the plus/minus basis are computed according to the fundamental letter grade; for example, grades of B+ or B- are computed as grades of B."

I’m a freshman at OU, made a 4.0 in architectural engineering, accepted into UT as a freshman last year but chose to accept scholarship at OU instead. Now planning on transferring. I was told I wouldn’t have any difficulty, no one mentioned anything about OOS making it more difficult to be accepted. Will I have trouble getting admitted?

First choice major: Architectural Engineering
Second choice major: Biomedical Engineering

i check mystatus obsessively as well… thank god for this thread.
