Transfer Decisions

Has anyone heard back yet on undergrad transfer applications?

Don't worry, I haven't heard back either, and I sent mine in late December.

I haven't, but they require a transcript from the spring semester.
Do you guys have the 30 credits they require?

Bump bump bump...

So, anyone heard about transfer decisions yet? And they didn't require spring transcripts from me, only fall and winter/intersession. I have a decent feeling we might be the last to know, especially if you are oos like me. Anyone know how they decide on transfer admits?

I heard that UT takes care of the huge amount of freshman, then they deal with the transfers.

I don't exactly like the wait either because it seems that with each day that passes, I become more and more unsure as to whether or not I'm going to get in.

Just out of curiousity,

For those of yall that are transferring, are any of yall rising juniors?

Rising juniors --> you mean like more than 75 hours?

Not here.

If I get in for the Fall 08 Semester, I'm planning on either deferring (if possible) or reapplying (if I don't get in) and I'll have either 78 or 81 for the Spring semester. I know that at least 12 of my hours won't transfer, so at most, I'll have 69 (haha) hours of credit.

i'm an oos junior transfer... still waiting for decision. the wait is lame, and our chances are slim... but i'm still excited!

well, as of right now i have 50 complete hours, and by the end of this semester i'll have 66 hours.

i called admissions the other day and they said that i should start checking my app status page this week, because they're going to make decisions from now until the end of april, "but it may take as long as May".

i'll be an instate transfer though. well..i think i wil. I'm a resident of texas, but i'm currently at an out of state college, but I think I still count as an instate student.

I applied last year and got my decision mid-April.

Will they look at high school records at all? I didn't have the strongest high school credentials, nothing compared to my accomplishments this year.

Nope, they don't look at your high school records.

What sucks for me is that I got college grades (2 Bs, 2 Cs) from my Dual Credit English class that I took senior year of high school, which are now killing my cumulative college GPA. I went from a 3.76 to 3.46. Hopefully UT will acknowledge that I'm a much better student now.

are you guys OOS applicants or in-state? a lot of my friends who went to Austin Community College got into UT(natural sciences and liberal arts) with GPA's of ~3.5.

Does UT take the school you're transferring from into consideration? Obviously, maintaining a high GPA at a more prestigious school is harder than at a community college.

The adcoms at UT could care less about pedigree. In their minds, gpa is gpa (this is what i have been told)

also, it seems that the earliest transfer decision that came out last yr was april 10 for a mccombs transfer, and most people started to receive decisions ~april 20

My GPA is I believe a 5.2 overall, but that comprises of 2 C's and the rest A's.

One is a dual credit course (econ macro)
Another is a class my scholarship required me to take in the Fall: Floral Design (I underestimated it)

I ended up making 4 A's and 1 C last semester, lol A's my hardest classes like calc and english, a C in supposedly the easiest one. I really hope they take that into consideration.

Wow, a 3.5 from ACC into Liberal/Natural? I applied to both as undeclared. I think I may have a good shot... there's no University i'd rather be at than UT Austin!

I received my decision today for undeclared liberal arts, i'm in!

I was also admitted today!! looks like decisions are coming in.. good luck to you all

i am also waiting, but i have to finish this semester first and send in my final transcript before they'll make a decision. i am applying as a sophomore, so i would have 31 hours completed. im scared that since theyve been giving out spots to freshman and transfers who already had the 30 hours required there won't be very many spots left. i know that yall aren't admissions councilors, but the person above me said something about her friends transferring with a 3.5. an admissions councilor told me that last year the average transfer was around a 3.57, but i'm guessing at this point its going to be ultra competitive since spots are already being given out. I have a 3.49, and if i'm lucky, it will be a 3.59 at the end of this semester. do you think i have a shot? i applied liberal arts econ, and my second choice was natural sciences undeclared. thank you.

oh and congratulations to everyone who got in
