Arizona Letters

Has anyone from AZ gotten a letter yet? I've gotten really really really antsy in the past few hours. Esp. since sempitern and legendofmax have already heard.

Have you gotten anything in the mail at all today from Princeton? Sounds sketchy :/

well, i don't get the mail for another hour in my neighborhood...i was just wondering if i should be expecting something. silmon77 did not get anything in his mail today though and we only live about 10 miles apart.

BTW- Congrats on Penn. It's an awesome school.

EDIT: to both silmon and max

I didn't get anything in KY, but KY is notoriously slow. Hopefully it's REALLY slow - even with Priority envelopes. ;)

lol...that's what I'm holding out for as well.

Thx, hao.

Yeah, didn't get anything. Priority mail does say 2-3 days, after all.

Yea, I live in the valley and didn't get anything yet. Have to wait until Monday :(

Mr. Mailman:
If you do not have good news on Monday, I may never forgive you for putting me through this agony. That, or I'll sue for emotional distress.

i duno anyone that knows yet =P

just got my mail...harvard waitlist letter but no princeton. but i guess the fact that no one from az that we know of knows must be a good thing right?

heh, I am starting to worry about mine too. nothing came in georgia today. And I live in a pretty urban area, the mail would get here kinda quickly. However, the glimmer of hope is that on wednesday, I checked online and got into tufts (yay?). The point of that is, that tufts is in boston (also northeast, if not more urban and easier to get mail out of than princeton), and I didn't get their letter today either. so, if it is taking this long for me to get the tufts acceptance letter (assuming they also send their's priority for acceptances) when they mailed it Wednesday, I shoud not be toooooo worried that pton hasn't arrived with anything yet...

desperately hanging onto any ounce of hope?

absolutely...
though this is ten times worse than waiting for online decisions...
rumor on the stanford board has it that the university was late mailing out decisions so i'm not losing hope for stanford either.

I actually had this conversation with my parents tonight at dinner. I really really like to get the mail decision when it is an acceptance... couldn't have made my family happier than the surprise the old-fashioned way. Seriously, my dad was crying, he called the school and personally thanked the head-of-school, etc when i got accepted to MIT, which only does decisions by mail. I don't think I would have been AS happy and excited and sharing the experience w/ my family, etc if I had checked online. I would have done what I did for Penn and Yale... check by myself in my room. That way, no one is there to see my face when I get (and indeed got) rejected. On the other hand, no one is there to see how happy I could potentially be either.

The flip side is thus: waiting for the mail is somewhat evil when you are waiting to (possibly) confirm a rejection. I would rather get teh moment over with, spare my family from seeing the envelope while I am at school and then watching me open it, by checking online. It is quick, to the point, and done with. Yes, I am sad, but releived that I know what to expect in a few days. I am not waiting on Yale or Penn's letters, because I know they will eventually get here, and I have alrady read what they contain. Not such a huge deal once I get over the whole "rejection" thing. But waiting on the regular mail... not knowing what it contains... I just want to know already! Spare me the angst and anxiety!

some person named sonicyouth just posted that he/she hadn't got anything either and he/she is from atlanta...if that makes you feel better.

California came today from Princeton.

yeah...but apparently not for all of california
besides, two different states=different service
or=i'm just clinging to straws.

right, right. You know... never in my life have I wanted mail to work on Sundays as much as these two weekends this year, the one waiting on ED decisons, and this one. Geeze... two more days.

did you get your mail yet today? you said your mailman doesn't come till late.

yeah...nothing...and it didn't come until 7:30, a new late record.

To be precise, an acceptance came today. Good luck you all.

soanyhows, where in atlanta do are you from? have you gotten any other letters in the past few days? I'm expecting a Dartmouth acceptance but it hasn't come yet. I haven't gotten anything from Princeton or Yale either, but I did get a really tiny envelope from Harvard. Whatever, I didnt even want to go to Harvard anyway. ;P
