Arizona State or University of Washington? Need help!!!

I’m an international student. I got accepted to ASU few weeks ago as Aerospace engineering major. I submitted $300 deposit and already got a roommate, meal plan, etc. I also booked the flight to Phoenix in August. However, yesterday I got an accepted letter from University of Washington- my dream school. And my major will be pre computing/ engineering. I really really love Seattle and UW is always my top choice. Its rankings is also higher than ASU. If I decide to go to UW, I will loose around few hundred dollars( deposit, change plane ticket fee). Let alone UW tuition is way more than ASU one( like $10000-$15000 more). I’m still waiting for scholarship from ASU, but if I get one, the gap will be very different. Moreover, if I go to ASU, I can major in aerospace engineering- my dream major. I just don’t know if ASU is for me or not. ( because of its party reputation).
So should I go for aerospace engineering at ASU or pre- engineering at UW? Is it worth to pay tons of money to go to pre- engineering at UW? (also consider some other aspects such as job opportunity after graduate or the student body,…)
I really need help right now!!

Admission to engineering majors at the University of Washington is described at https://www.engr.washington.edu/current/admissions/admitstats . Arizona State is the safer choice as far as aerospace engineering goes if you have direct admission to the major there.

In your situation, I would consider Washington if your stats are around 3.9+ unweighted GPA, 32+ ACT and/or 2150+ SAT. Otherwise, your best bet is to attend ASU, where you are already in the aerospace engineering major. Good luck!

Thank you for your advice!

As an aeronautics engineering major you won’t have time to go to any parties. You will be in the lab, in the library, or in a study group.

Thank you!
