I received admission for the cs program at UTA with a 23000 dollars a year scholarship. I got deferred to the math honors program at uwaterloo. I am confused about whether I should sacrifice stream or college. I always intended to use UTA as a college from which I would take a transfer as it is a cheap uni. Waterloo’s co-op program helps offset costs and these are the only 2 viable options due to covid. which uni should I go for?
I got to admit, I had never heard of the University of Waterloo but after I read up on it, it does appear to be an excellent school. The question is can you afford it. If you can, I would go to Waterloo. If not, UTA will give you a good education. If you are an international student, you should also consider the the process of getting a job after graduation. Is Canada’s immigration process easier than the US, if you want to stay? Again, I am assuming you are an international student. UTA will give you solid education and probable job prospects in the Dallas/Ft Worth area and if it is the only affordable option, I would take it.
