I want to serve the military after i become a doctor and hopefully will be able to get a scholarship/military grant. because i heard the military will pay for school for a 6 year contract making 120,000$ a year with no malpractice insurance. and it would look great on a resume (humanitarian services). so should i take an army grant if i get one? or take out student loans. im leaning towards army but i want to hear other opinons.

HPSP is extremely competitive. IIRC, fewer than 1/3 of applicants get accepted into the program and there are limits on how much of your tuition the military covers. (If the school you will be attending costs more than tuition limit levels, you will need to take out student loans to cover the difference.)

HPSP mandates you accept a military residency and your repayment service doesn’t not begin until after you’ve completed residency. As always, the military reserves the right to determine the course of your medical career. Your preferences for a specialty may or may not be honored. For the navy, in particular, most new doctors are required to serve 1-3 years as a GMO aboard a vessel before being considered for permission to enter the military residency match. I believe the army & AF does something similar.
