Well, considering that he is fiscally conservative and socially liberal, I wouldn't have a real problem if he ran. He had made mistakes, but on the whole Cal is doing pretty well.

If Schwarzenegger could run for President, I'd have to compare him with Giuliani and McCain, but would most likely vote for Schwarzenegger. I think he's done a very good job in California (so does my liberal political science professor-- who usually hates all things Republican) so far.

I see McCain being a bit too conservative, and Giuliani a bit too liberal (socially). I think Schwarzenegger would be the ideal moderate Republican. I would hardly consider Schwarzengger a social conservative.

IF an ammendment were added that would change the existing law preventing foreign-born persons from running for president, I'd most likely vote for Schwarzenegger.

But then, IF the Queen had balls, she'd be King. Right?

I'm Canadian, but if I had American citizenship I would consider voting for Arnold, if only because it would be funny if he actually became president of the United States. Imagine the cheesy one-liners from his movies, only this time on the world stage!

Then again, he might actually be a good leader. People laughed when Ronald Reagan, another ex-actor California governor, ran for president, and he turned out to be one of the greatest world leaders in history.

if arnold were president - just imagine what would happen when he calls the leader of iran or saudi arabia a girly-man.

they'd try to start a war, alyssa milano would get kidnapped, he'd paint his face, go over there on a prop plane with a big ass combat knife and 2 rocket launchers and do some major ass kicking - commando style. i can't wait to see him sabersaw frisbee some psycho brown people. it'd be sweet.

Best post in the history of CC.

However, you didn't mention the impale via pitchfork awesomeness.

Hell yes. What other politician has been in countless macho movies like Predator and doesn't like "economic girly men". He has also been in Kindergarten Cop which shows he can have a soft side too.

What does it mean to be "fiscally conservative" and "socially liberal"...politics isn't my thing

er, exactly what it says -- economically conservative and socially liberal. those people generally are more concerned with putting down inflation, cutting income-taxes, and basically promoting the basics of laissez-faire. socially liberal means that they generally believe in gay marriage rights, abortion rights, stem cell research -- all that is concerned with the social strata.

or so I understand, since it describes me as well.

A fiscally conservative socially liberal person is someone who will do blow with a $100, while a full on liberal will do it with either a $1 or a pen shaft. thats how I always think of it ;-).
