art at MIT

i'm actually really looking into MIT to apply to in the future...it seems like it has a great atmosphere and fun people.

anyways, just asking about artists at MIT. are there a lot of them? are there good programs/classes/activities for them? i like science (esp. chemistry) but i have an undying love for almost all visual arts, so i'd love some feedback on art there.

I don't know much about art, as I have about as much artistic talent as your average housecat. Ahem.

What I do know is that [4.301, Intro to Visual Arts, is a pretty popular class, and the people I know who have taken it absolutely loved it.

There is also a Student</a> Art Association](<a href="http://ocw.mit.edu/OcwWeb/Architecture/4-301Fall-2005/CourseHome/index.htm%5D4.301%5B/url">http://ocw.mit.edu/OcwWeb/Architecture/4-301Fall-2005/CourseHome/index.htm) which offers classes and studios for various types of artsy pursuits; a friend of mine took a pottery class and made some lovely bowls.

hey there visual arts buddy! holla.

(PM if you wanna talk)

your SN says you are artsy!!! :p

i mean no disrespect to "sturdy" female engineers, I personally think "artsy" girls more or less "appealing", not too "intimidating" And I am sure many boys share my sentiment :)

You seem to be implying that a girl can't be both! Not true! :P
