Hey there! I'm Zafeiris and i'm Greece.I'm 19 years old.Last year i finished highschool and i haven't really been doing anything since then. For the last few months i've been thinking about coming to America for college but whenever i attempt to get informed i end up getting confused because of so many factors, scholarships, visa's etc. etc. The reality is that i need a scholarship but just have no idea how to get started,do i sign up for the college i'm interested in and then look for a scholarship? I'm really confused..Anyway,i would really appreciate the help! And if anyone is from Europe (or even better,Greece) and studies in America let me know your story!

There are two major questions

what colleges are you qualified for?

question of affordability - what can your family contribute, what college might help with aid depending on question 1

Aside from funds a college itself might provide you because you qualify for a scholarship, there aren’t sources of funds for foreign undergraduate students. You might be better off looking for a scholarship source in your country. It is possible that there are greek-american associations that help a bit. But it is very expensive to go to college here.

You probably want to contact EducationUSA for advising

This is a little old but a good start to list colleges that have been known to give some funds for internationals

Unless you have super stats, you’re not going to get the money for school here. The US schools are not entities with pots of gold to hand out to everyone who gets a wild-haired idea of wanting a funded education here.

Nearly all intl students who go to school here have parents who will pay.

what are your stats and how much will your family pay?
