Art colleges in Midwest?

I wonder if we could get sticky posts for the various "Art" schools or universities with art colleges within them, similar to what the musical theatre thread has going at the top of that sub-forum?

Any admin people want to weigh in on this?

If they say "yes" to this request, who would we like to see?
My suggestions:
Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design
Minneapolis College of Art and Design
Kansas City Art Institute
U of Mich School of Art and Design
Savannah College of Art and Design
Rochester Institute of Technology
Rhode Island School of Art & Design
Parsons
Cooper Union

What else???

We visited KCAI this past April while we were visiting family in Kansas City. We were extremely impressed with the program. We had a close to three hour tour with a student was getting ready to go onto graduate school. Future tour guides will have a tough time being compared the the enthusiasm and knowledge that this guy had. I was doubly impressed due to the fact that our daughter was only a high school freshman at the time. One of the things that struck me was their dedication to a well rounded education and the fact that you did not have to declare a major as a freshman. I was told that other schools foundation year is modeled after the one at KCAI. It is a small school, only around 560 students and that of course, can have its positive and negative points. My daughter said she could see herelf going there. We have not been to visit any other programs yet so I can't compare it to anything else. I would look into it though if it is within the size and geographical area you are looking at. My daughter is interested in design, illustration or animation. It's not that easy to find something that offers all of those.

Best of luck to your daughter.

believersmom, I'd like to see School of the Art Institute of Chicago on that thread.

CMU is in PittsburgH, PA.

First, I apologize for the grammatical error in my previous post. I was rushing to get out of the house and did not read it over.

Pixinpie - do you know anything about the animation dept? When we were there we were told that it was pretty new. Our guide suggested we check back to see how it was working out.

Excuse my ignorance - but what makes a thread "sticky"?

Thanks

Scoop-
You are not ignorant. If you go to the Musical Theatre sub-forum you will see two things at the top:
One-a listing of key schools with MT degree programs (this, I believe is in the hope that all discussions relating to those schools happen within the sub-sub-forum of that school and therefore become easier for people to find.
Two-Certain topics that have a sort of push-pin icon next to them so that they are always "stuck" at the top of the discussion regardless of how long it is between posts (again, to make it easier to find certain things)
I consider both of these using the "sticky" post and they can only be done by the administration of the boards.

So often we keep starting new threads about the same set of "art" schools, I thought if the same system were used for specific schools here as on the MT thread, it might be helpful. I fear now that I may have (inadvertantly) hijacked this thread from its OP. Sincerely sorry. Someone please rescue me.
