I'm deciding between doing Art Education or Graphic Design...

If I went into education, I'd only want to teach middle or high school. Not elementary. I wouldn't mind being a teacher, and while I know the pay isnt great, I know theres still some benefits to the job.

I would originally go into Graphic Design because I ultimately would love to be an animator or illustrator one day. However, what holds me back from doing this as my major is the job aspect and not having other options in case I figure out I'd rather keep art more personal instead of solely relying on my artwork to make money.

So should I do art education as a way to have a backup in case I don't want use my personal work as a source of income?

Or just go ahead and major in Graphic Design and take a leap?

Either way I go, I could still plan to go into art school for my masters for animation (or masters in teaching if I am so inclined to do so).
