art hist 55b or hist 1b?

I'm currently enrolled in art hist 55b with Cecelia Klein and hist 1b with Norberg and am probably going to drop one. Anyone that has taken either class have any opinions on the class? Easy/hard? Lots of work?
I would prefer the class that has less work or is easier; only reason I'm taking these classes because I had very limited choices for GEs this quarter. Also, some claim that attendance isn't a big deal for art hist 55b; is this true? Thanks for the help.

I haven’t taken Art History 55B, but am an Art History minor and attendance is pretty crucial for lower division classes. The discussion section is mandatory as it is 15-20% of your grade for attendance and participation. The professors also usually talk about what is on their exams. Lower division courses usually consist of 1-2 papers, a midterm, final, and participation as your grade. I would recommend going to both classes for the first day and discussion and see which is less work and which TA you think will be nicer/easier.

Also, how about Women’s Studies 10 with Eileraas?
