Anyone have any knowledge of the Art History program at SMU? D is looking at the B.A. and B.F.A. programs. She is also checking out Bard, Barnard, Williams, Vassar, Northwestern, and Columbia.

dtex50--I think Vassar's art history program is pretty good. My younger daughter was accepted there last year (though she's now attending Carleton) and I was really impressed with the catalog.
If your daughter is interested in art history, I'll bet she could go to almost any good LAC and get plenty of what she needs. For example, my older daughter is a sophomore at College of Wooster, a lovely, small LAC in the heart of Ohio Amish country. It's not famous for a world-class art history program, but my daughter--who is majoring/minoring in archaeology, art history, and religious studies, has thrived. She's studying art history this current term at the Lorenzo de Medici School in Florence, Italy, and next year plans on getting started on a two-year required Independent Study project, possibly on symbolism in Renaissance Art. I just think a smart, motivated student will be inspired and educated at any number of good schools. Those you named would each be awesome. Good luck!
