Does anyone have any experience with this program? I don't hear it discussed on the boards.

I am also looking for info on the AIB program - my D was already accepted but I don't see anyone mentioning it. There was a post today but I can't seem to find it again, saying their facilities are not the greatest but that the teaching is supposedly fine, and that the work he'd seen from students was good...

D attended AIB program last summer. Enjoyed it and benefited from it.

Downside of AIB is that while it is operated by Lesley University, it is not co-located with it. AIB facility is in Boston, while Lesley and its housing are in Cambridge -- several miles and a van-ride away.

i went 2 years ago
it was a butt

the food was okay, there was a funny cat living at while hall
most of the work that was made there was mediocre from what i saw in the show
i had some cool teachers and made some okay work, got my first experience with figure drawing

i signed up late so i got a bunch of random classes in my schedule

forced to go on weird trips but still they weren't organized at all like they planned for us to go to china town and eat at a vegan restaurant or something but we didn't... one girl was actually very upset i dunno

there was this weird rule that you werent supposed to leave the dorms unless you were in a group of three and for the people who didn't follow the rules i'm sure they had a good time exploring but i didn't do anything but stay in the dorm the whole time... the counselors actually picked me to the be the one person to pick on and yell at for straying from the group even though other people would do much worse

once we got stranded at aib because there was a baseball game and the vans got blocked because a bunch of cars were parked in front of it

everyone smoked since they were allowed and there was a lot of um... suspect activity going on but other people had a good time. they made good friends and people still speak to each other now

boston and harvard square were lovely tho and i wish i left the dorm and experienced more of it

oh yeah and the showers always overflowed into the bathroom stalls
