Final Decision: MassArt & AIB

Hello I have been accepted to both Massachussetts College of Art and Design aswell as the Art Institute of Boston at Lesley Unviversity. I will be pursuing an Animation BFA at either school. I have no only a few weeks for a final decision. I am an instate resident, MassArt costs less than AIB, but my mother has asked me where I want to go. I like AIB but it is very costly and I like Massart. She has told me to ignore the cost and decide witch I like more? Anyone have any info on both schools, like review of the animation program and if you have liked your experience there? I have already toured both schools. Thank you! :)

I don’t know much about the programs at AIB but my son has taken summer classes at Mass Art. He’s a JR this year and it’s one of the schools on his “apply to” list. One thing that might help you decide - MassArt is part of the Fenway Consortium so you can take non-art classes at one of the other schools in the Consortium, if that’s of interest. Not sure if AIB has a similar type of relationship with other schools.

My daughter visited both and thought the Mass Art facilties, programs and dorms were better. I liked the price tag better.

Lesley’s reputation outside of the region is not any stronger.
