Art Institute of Boston?

I've been looking for schools in the MA/RI/CT area, planning on majoring in graphic design. I've been especially interested in being in Boston, and I really would prefer a university or a school with close ties to a university/LAC. However, I haven't given AiB any thought up until now because I thought it was part of the for-profit "Art Institutes" system, which I'm staying far, far away from.

Upon realizing that it wasn't, however, I'm giving it a closer look. It seems like I would get a lot of merit aid there (they advertise scholarships for high stats, which I have-- 34 ACT, 2240 SAT), and the tie with Lesley looks promising. But I've found it pretty difficult to find more information on it, even after many searches on this site and the internet in general. Does anyone know anything about the quality of this school? How close is the tie with Lesley, and would it be easy to take a minor in a non-art field?

Any help is much appreciated! Thank you!

I haven’t really looked into AiB so I can’t comment on the quality of the school, but according to the large book they sent me, AiB is part of Lesley University. And apparently you have all the resources of Lesley, AiB students live in the same dorms as Lesley kids, and you can even pursue a dual-degree. So yes, I think it would be very easy to minor in an academic field there. :)

Since you’re interested in Boston, you might want to look into SMFA which has strong ties with Tufts (you can take classes there and dual-degree).

And if you have strong stats, why not go for the RISD/Brown dual-degree?
