I've heard lots of people saying they want to submit art portfolios with their college apps when they apply for undergrad. Even if you're not majoring in art, would submitting an art portfolio help, as an extra "extracurricular?" Or is it just a waste if you're not planning on majoring in it? I'm planning on applying to the bioengineering major, so I really need to take physics class outside class to increase my chance of acceptance (since physics is crucial to engineering majors). But I am already taking 4 APs at my school and I really don't think I'll have enough time to take physics at my community college and take care of my GPA at the same time. I'm a senior, by the way. So I was thinking about dropping my studio art class. However, the teacher keep persuading us that taking his class will be valuable because many colleges like to see creative art portfolio that shows that you can think outside the box. What should I do? Take physics and drop studio art or just keep studio art and not take physics? Please... I really need people's advice on this. Thanks.

Physics is eminently more useful for your situation. Hands down.
