Art Student

Hi! I am am going to be a senior in high school this fall and am starting to apply to colleges. I plan on being an art major. I know that going to an art school would probably be the best choice but I also want the "college experience." I want the big games and spirit. I am looking for a college that has all that plus a great art program. Any suggestions?

Have you put together a good portfolio in order to apply to a strong Fine Arts BFA program? If so, the Arts schools at some big universities like Mason Gross at Rutgers or Tyler School of Art at Temple might be good fits.

a college or uni also offers you the opportunity to major or minor in something else that will help your career or just help you to make a living til that first big gallery show launches you into the pantheon. choose a program with a lot of studio and exhibition space, esp. if you’re into creating works of sizable dimensions.

is the portfolio ready for prime time? what’s the resumé look like?

thank you for all of this feedback! My portfolio is almost done and I think that I have a decent resume with volunteer work and good grades
