I'm considering including an art supplement to my applications because I am passionate about singing. However, I have expressed that I will not be professionally pursuing singing, but will still take part in choral ensembles and music classes. Should I still include it as a supplement?

Yes, colleges need singers to fill their choruses, ensembles and musicals, even if they end up majoring in something else. This is especially true of smaller colleges where your potential contribution to the non-academic campus community can be an important factor in admissions. (Admissions to conservatories is something else altogether.)

Music is a great EC, but it’s up to you to communicate what it means to you. Along with your performance recording you should put together a music resume that includes a list of classes, performances, awards, accomplishments. Perhaps a supplemental recommendation from an instructor or a teacher. Your essays and recommendations could enhance your commitment.
