I'd love to study art, but my parents aren't too happy about the idea; however, we've settled on a common ground, I may go to a normal college (meaning not an arts and design one) and minor in art.

Now, the colleges I've seen don't require a portfolio if you aren't majoring in art, but I thought maybe I could submit a portfolio anyways, as a supplement. Would this be a good idea? I know I can get 10-20 pages worth putting by November (the date for early admission applications).

I'm no amazing artist (I'm better than average though), yet I'm a tad scared my portfolio could hurt me instead of help ...

What do you think? Should I do it or not?
