art

I have photo prints that I want to supplement to my application. I don’t have copies to send to all schools. What is the best format to send supplemental visual art work in? I also have of architecture models I created from a summer architecture program I attended, again what is the best format? Also whow much weight do they place on this subject in the admissions process

Same question here. Anybody can answer?

I found some good responses on Dartmouth and Brown recent threads, check it out, I am confident the same applies to Bowdoin. Probably in the end is given minimal consideration, unfortunatley

My roommate is a visual arts major here, she used slides when she applied. I don't know how much weight is given to the supplement, though.

if you're really good, it's given as much weight as being a top athlete. the art department, if they like your work, will lobby on your behalf.

Thanks for your reply about art, pb2002. How about music? I sent a CD with my ED appy and the choir director contacted me to say he'd lobby for me enthusiastically, but of course he couldn't promise anything. Do you think it will have weight?

yes, i think it will have weight. it just depends upon how many other students he's lobbying for enthusiastically. also, bowdoin always tends to draw a fair amount of vocal talent, so it'll depend upon whether the admissions committee thinks it's helpful for the class. are with within the numbers? if so, this could help. if not, i'm not sure.

Thanks PB2002 I think I'm within the numbers, although maybe just:
GPA 3.9 Weighted (top 11% in class of about 140)
SATS CR700 M650 WR780 (of course my highest score is in the test they ignore)
Am I acceptable now?

i guess we'll see...

How encouraging.
