Hi, my child was admitted to the school of Arts and Architecture last year but did not receive a likely letter. Are likely letters for Arts and Architecture being sent this year? If so, what do they say, when were they sent, and how did you receive it (email or US post)? I have another child applying next year.
Thanks!

From my understanding, students who were admitted to the School of Arts and Arch. were sent open house invitations which said that they were selected by the faculty. They came towards the end of March through the mail.

I can tell you that, in our experience with a music admit, the invitation to the Open House arrived after or at the same time as the admission letter. There was no likely letter prior to the actual admission letter. I do not know about the other disciplines within Arts and Architecture but I don’t want to freak out anyone who does not receive such a letter.

Does anyone else have any knowledge different from my experience? Does anyone know what is happening this year?

Last year, the open house for the SA&A was held on Friday, April 13, [2012].
They usually hold tours of the department every Friday, but on Friday April 12, 2013, there will no tour held due to a “special event”.
Thus, I predict that the open house will be held that day. I also predict that invitations will start arriving next week.

Has anyone received an open house invitation letter/email for A&A?

bump…
anybody?

Yes, my daughter (D2) just got an email invite to the Arts & Arch open house on April 12th. She was accepted last Friday. :)

I also received an email invitation to the Arts open house today.

Congrats!
@wheaty what is your daughter’s major?

I am a transfer applicant and I received an email invite to the open house yesterday and it stated “This is an opportunity for freshman and transfer applicants recommended for admission by their departments to visit UCLA Arts and learn more about their intended major.”

I still have not been admitted/rejected so this is a little confusing. I am trying not to get excited here but it’s looking good?
