arts and humanities major

Anyone in this major or know about this major: is it good? And most importantly, does it have any design in it?
I'm debating between cal poly slo graphic design and uci (i got in for urban studies) and changing to arts and humanities later. I really want to study design (not really into just art) So other than liking my SLO major more, I like UCI's everything else more than cal poly's everything else (campus, location, etc)
Opinions?

These are the metrics I’d be evaluating.

Local Reputation: roughly even

Regional Reputation: roughly even, mayby a slight edge to UCI the further you get from California

International Reputation : Cal Poly has little outside of architecture

Internship Opportunities : The arts are all about WHO you know. Having a degree is almost completely worthless if you don’t have things to go along with it. If you feel as though you’re going to have life easy in 4 years just for going to a few “worthless” classes you’re sorely mistaken. You need to build up a resume/CV/portfolio and a client list. I would imagine that this would be easier in LA/OC than in the SLO, but I could be mistaken

Cultural fit

Adaptability - if you decide to change your mind, what other options are there?

Hi sofflipa!
did you apply as transfer student to UCI for Urban Studies?
what was your GPA?

I want to apply this fall and want to know my chances…

Thank you! :)
