Arts Legacy

Can someone explain who Arts Legacy is for? Is it for high achievers or low achievers?

is that one of the 3 core curriculums?

Yeah, there's general, Arts Legacy, and en francais.

You just choose. Assuming you do not speak french,or at least arent fluent, that one is out of the question. So you have general and Arts Legacy. You pick whichever one you want to and take those to fulfill you requirements. Anyone can do it if they want to.

Im doing general because I have a bunch of AP credits so I theoretically would only have maybe 1 class left to fulfill (that is assuming i get into mcgill and attend)

Arts Legacy is for those who are basically dead set on studying the arts. It's not an easy curriculum that makes it's students study the classics, and it's very writing intensive. I have 2 friends in it, and for the most part, they love it. I imagine anyone who can walk out of Arts Legacy will be more than prepared for further arts studies, however it should be known that a.l. is almost a pre-university curriculum. Effectively, you're delaying legit university studies when you do a.l. because you'll enter U1 with less of a materials-breadth than your colleagues. You won't be behind credit wise, but for the most part, you'll only have taken 2 or AT MOST 3 different classes over your U0, where as your other Arts peers will have taken 4 or 5 different classes.

To hammer the point: my twin is a philosophy major, his schedule is: calculus, micro-economics, philosophy, physics, and jewish studies. My arts legacy friend's schedule is: arts legacy, and "literature and democracy". The diversity in study material should be fairly apparent. You'll have some students walking into their U1 with a plethora of social sciences and humanities credits under their belt, while you'll have other students who are more Arts specialized.

OK, that pretty much answers my question. I think general studies is the thing for me. Thanks!

i love cheese. especially gouda. camembert and brie sux A*s.

get out!^^^
