ARTS & SCIENCES SPECIAL PROGRAMS DAY & SENIOR SCHOLARS DAY

Anyone going to either of these events on February 15th and 16th?

My S and I will be down there this weekend. Looking forward to it!

@ColdinMinny How did the weekend event go? My DD visited on Friday of last week instead as could not attend weekend event due to other obligations.

We had a very nice time, but it was very cold on Sunday!

There were over 130 prospective students attending. They had a nice opening program, then a chance to attend a few “mock” classes, which were terrific. The Prof’s presenting were superb.

Scattered during those offerings on Sunday were interviews for the Honors, Dean’s and History programs. They have over 200 kids competing for the Honors program, with 48 openings. Met some very impressive young people–I have no idea how they can whittle down the list, quite frankly. Apparently some of applicants could not attend in person, so were interviewing via Skype.

We attended a portion of the program on Monday, after S spent an overnight with on the Honors floor 9th Swanson. He had a nice time, but as it was a "school night’, not a lot of activity, and he was pretty whipped by then.

We left a bit early on Monday, since we have already had two tours previously, and needed to get home.

Hope this helps!

I should add: The entire milieu of Creighton is pretty special, IMO. We don’t happen to be Catholic, but the Jesuit philosophy of teaching and discernment is pretty special, and spoke to our S (and me). Some very, very nice young people attending this school.
