Arts Supplement Question

So I'm finally ready to ship it off.

Stanford wants it in a 9x12 envelope with EVERYTHING inside - the form, teacher rec, and music cd. We can't send it in a small package?

I'm a bit confused.
Is the teacher rec supposed to be in a regular-sized sealed envelope or just the letter with everything else, and for the cd. I'm gonna put it in a plastic case. Wouldnt it get smashed in the mail? Do we have to bubble wrap it or what?

Please help. Thankyouuu :)

I'm a wonderin' the same thing! Btw (sry to ask another question on your post!) does the arts letter of rec have to be from someone affiliated with your high school? Or can it be a non-school music teacher?

you get special CD mailers.. use one of those.. it has bubble wrap or foam inside to protect the cd case.

hand delivery? lol

Hey, What does Stanford mean when it says:
"Submissions should be made on Audio CD. Do not send CD roms, DATs ...."

Huh?
I was going to burn my mp3 recordings on a CD rom. What is an audio CD then? What did you guys do?

I did live audition, cant help you there, you play piano?
If you do, I can help you out tremendously

I do, but I'm submitting a Tabla recording!
But someone answer my question, lol. Stanford has so many whims and fancies!

How were you going to help me st.aegis, just curious? :)

well what I did, was I went to a recording studio and they formatted for me.
It is expensive though, its like 100-200$/ recording sessions.
If you give me your location, I can find you someone who will do it at half that price
An audio cd is like a cd you can play on any old cd player

HEhehe, I'm in New Delhi, India! Thanks though.
Those Audio CDs you mean the black ones? Mp3 runs on most of current technology though.

as long as you can play it on a really old fashioned cd player, it should be fine

I think i'll just go with the 'MAKE Audio CD' option in NERO-burning ROM :|
It runs on every stereo and cd player I have, I guess it should be fine? I don't know if 'those' kinds of CD are available anywhere here, besides the recording equipment

HALP :'( lol

Bump...some of you guys must surely be knowing!

i put everything (including my teacher rec) inside this crazy bubble-wrap 9X12 envelope so that my cd case wouldn't break.

mistermax - my letter was from an outside-of-school teacher, i'm pretty sure that's ok

hopefulhearted, was it a music supplement?

yup, music. i sent in a recording.

piano? 10char

no.. flute. i was going to send in both flute & piano but decided against that because i'm more competitive on flute.

^ Please specify what kind of CD? Did you just burn mp3s to a CD? OR a special disk? lol please temme!
