I have some artwork I'd want to send in as part of a portfolio to colleges, but I was wondering what the response would be if it were slightly controversial/disturbing/scary. It's really good, but I don't want the admissions committee to think I'm messed up, crazy, or depressed or anything! I know that a lot of art and things in popular culture these days are questionable but I don't really know how admissions committees would take it.
