Art's not exceptionally creative, but...

I'm planning to send in an art supplement to all my colleges. I think my art's pretty good, but I've only taken 1 year of Draw/Paint. I would've continued but due to my schedule conflicts, I couldn't pursue art. So basically I self taught myself to paint and such. I've noticed that all my projects in Draw/Paint I had really good creativity and design due to my teacher's requirements, but the pieces I did come short. And I'm planning to minor in Visual Arts.

I was just wondering if I should include a brief statement about my circumstances because there will be many other art supplements better than mine that have greater media variety, creativity, themes and technical skill.

Honestly, it probably doesn't even make a difference seeing as how admissions doesn't put much weight on art supplements. But if it can help in any way, I definitely want to send in a letter.

What do you guys think? Is it a bad idea?

Explain how this is as far as you got with the materials given, but how you really want to further your understanding or art and your technique.

You can just note it on your resume… that’s what I did. I haven’t had any art classes in HS. :]
