I transfered to IU this year and chose to live in the dorms just to experience it, because I never had before. I got put in Wright and of course my whole floor is freshmen. Its extremely loud and I can't stand it. I'd like to stay on campus for convenience but would like a single room and quieter environment, so which is better, Ashton or Wilkie? Pros and cons? Etc etc? Or do you recommend somewhere else?

I don’t know about Wilkie, but my daughter is in Ashton and it is very quiet, with not a lot of freshmen. She is on a residence scholar floor, which means she has to do some common area cleaning once/week for about an hour and she gets a HUGE discount on the room cost. She is on her third year in the same room. It’s a great location and the best deal on campus. She lived in a double in Teter freshman year and her single room is more than half the space she had in Teter.

My D is in Wilkie this year, and she doesn’t like it because it is TOO quiet. Everyone keeps their door closed all the time. She has not met a single soul there, and hangs out only with people she met freshmen year.

I lived in Wilkie as a sophomore and it was awful–much like MidwestMom17’s D, I thought it was TOO quiet. I ended up rushing a sorority to meet people so I wouldn’t have to live there again!
