I'm a Sophomore at Indiana University. I'm looking for a more laid back experience after my freshman year. I don't want to mess with the frat/party types anymore, yet at the same time I'd still like to make new friends and meet people. Is Wilkie a decent place for that?

I’d like to know as well. I’m a sophomore in Willkie too

I lived in Willkie my sophomore year before joining a sorority, and absolutely hated it. Unlike in the freshman dorms, the doors don’t stay open for fire code reasons, and the halls are very quiet. Honestly, I met the people on my floor once, during the first week, and other than that…I only knew my suitemate.

Did you just socialize with the friends you already have then?

Yeah, I’d go to my friends’ apartments or houses and hang out there…they would offer to come over, but there just wasn’t really that much space to hang out in. I had less space in Willkie than I did in the freshman dorms

^^^is it impossible to prop the doors open or is it against the rules to do so?

You can with a doorstop, but nobody else on my floor did. They are heavier fire doors since Willkie is newer
