So by the looks of it, because tennis takes up so much of my time, I'm probably going to get a B in class. I'm doing extremely well in my other classes, but I just don't have the time/brains to get that A. Although I know that I probably won't get into colleges like Stanford etc....while looking through the admit results on CC..all the Asians who had a comfortable income had straight A's. I'm one of those Asians. Because of that, will that mean it's practically impossible for me to get into..let's say, Stanford, MIT, Princeton (those are my favorite reaches). I'm not anything spectacular either, just a normal person who may get lucky. IDK. Just wondering.

Sounds like you’ve been drinking the CC koolaid .

Yes, those schools have extremely competitive admissions, a few are fine as long as you develop a realistic list of admissions and financial safety/match/reach schools to apply to.

Yep, Asians can get a B and still get into Stanford and MIT although I don’t know if that’s what held a kid back from Princeton. :p

Relax. It’s not even November yet.

But if you keep on telling yourself that you’re “doomed” to get a B in a certain class and act accordingly, well…

What does a +90% rejection rate imply? You probably won’t get into colleges like Stanford, Princeton and MIT because of the sheer fact that you hit the SUBMIT button.

Not because you’re an Asian without a 4.0 GPA. Stop foisting that trope or looking for sympathy. You wanna insist that to be “successful” that only 4.0 will cut it for Asians ? Take that “I’m doomed” message and flush it. It’s any eye-roller to me…

On TV your Dad would have made you drop out of Glee Club.

That was absolutely perfect
