I just wanted to know how the asian fraternities in umich were. Are they recognized in the campus, do any charity work, do they party and etc. In addition, does joining an Asian-interest fraternity pretty much imply that all your friends will be Asians?</p>

<p>I’ve been to both Asian frat parties. Lambda parties really hard. They have some big ones at their house every once in a while, sometimes a huge one at nightclubs (ones that sororities from other states come to attend) and weekly mixers with sororities and non-affiliated girls. </p>
<p>Lambda is the bigger one and from my perception, the more bad boy, work hard play hard one. Pineapple is more of a nerdy one. Both are recognized on campus and do charity work. Lambda participates in annual cultural shows. Pineapple also started to participate. I think this year was their first one. </p>
<p>Think about joining a frat as a means to meet Asians. But of course you have other means that everyone else have such as dorms, clubs, classes, etc where you meet other people. I’m not a bro or anything but if you want to learn more about asian frats, i can refer you to some people who can tell you more.</p>

<p>Is pineapple supposed to be a “____ on the outside ____ on the inside” type of food? If so, what? I just thought pineapples were yellow. Or is the joke “yellow on the inside, yellow on the outside?”</p>

<p>@tsakanielf, there are 2 asian sororities on UM campus. First is KDPhi and second is KPL. Both have bad reps, especially KDPhi. KDPhi for being slutty (I’ve heard from several Pineapples) and annoying (I know this is true outside of the Greek circle). Don’t do Asian sororities. Small upside, HUGE downside potential. is it solid , or do they just consider it just as an exclusive Asian group?

<p>Lambda is pretty solid. No doubt about that. They have a good reputation among sororities and the general public. The brothers are pretty chill.<br>
I’ve met a white Lambda once, so it’s def not exclusively Asian.<br>
I’ve seen white and black people at their parties. But a lot of Asians. But that’s expected. I’m Korean, and I love Asian girls. If I wasn’t a rising junior, I would have pledged Lambda.</p>
