<p>Just curious - have seen various posts and race being mentioned, especially in the "chance me" threads. Also, saw another post where one of the posters was said to be "stereotypically Asian" - whatever that meant.</p>
<p>Does it matter and if so, in what way?</p>
<p>Asian and Indians are ORM (over represented minorities), so just being one hurts your choices at top schools. Also, at top schools, they get thousands of Asian candidates that play violin/piano, are awesome at math, and anything else stereotypical of Asians.</p>
<p>Whites are basically a test group.</p>
