What's your opinion?

wow another thread inviting useless debate. aren't there enough of these already? anyways I'm asian and I'm horrible.

LOL, you said "maths'. i've only ever heard Indian people say that in my life.

Exactly dude...

we invented the abacus... duh.

did we... I thought the romans did, we invented the zero.

They argent smarter than anybody else. Just like nobody else is smarter than another person.

The way one gets smarter or excels is to have early experience with the different subjects when the brain absorbs the most.

if you learn alot of math at a young age you will be better at math,

They're smarter than everyone else and have superior genes. We should be like Hitler and kill everyone who's not a first-generation Asian immigrant. We all know that Asians are really descended from an alien species of superior intelligence, and all normal humans deserve to be burnt at the stake.

SIEG HEIL!!!!! :D

Because first-generation Asian parents ain't gonna help you with your English HW...

Ha ha ha ha, mine did.

Ha ha ha ha, mine didn't.

I'm sorry.

One time I tried to ask my dad a question about English grammar... omg... he went on this dinosaur tangent... was so weird...

o.o

what........

I'm Asian but I am not good at math.

It's myth,not fact.

I think that if you pull a random Asian-American and a random non-Asian American, the Asian-American is more likely to be better at math (this applies especially to lower-level math where parental pressures still apply).

However, when you get up to higher maths, non-Asians and Asians will usually perform about equally.

It's probably more of the drive or pressure to master the subject than who's naturally smarter.

Its because we Asians are actually Transformers. Need I say more?

to compensate for their short.....

leashes? Yeah a lot of asian parents pressure their kids, always keeping a close eye on them, but I don't understand how asians would compensate by being good at math. Wouldn't they just be accepting what their parents wanted them to?

I think the main reason is how the kids grew up. I know my parents always drilled me in math early on. I learned my multiplication tables before I knew how to read. Its because its more difficult for asian parents to teach critical reading, ergo more emphasis on math.
