Asians at Fordham?

Hi everyone, I've recently been accepted to Fordham, and after visiting the RH campus, I think that it would be a great fit for me. However, I'm curious about the Asian population at Fordham; I'm pretty "Americanized," and I have many Caucasian friends, but I still feel that it's easier to get along with other Asians.

Thanks :D

There is a pretty good amount of Asians I’d say. And if it helps, a lot of the ones I know are pretty Americanized so you’ll definitely fit in!

From Fordham’s website, it appears you won’t be alone, since at least 9% of the population at Fordham is Asian, and there are at least three Asian clubs. Also consider that NYC has tons of Asians from all over the world, both as long-term residents and as students at the many universities in the metro area. The city also has a Chinatown and a Koreatown, and probably many other ethnic enclaves, and every type of restaurant and cultural experience you can imagine.

We are dedicated to unifying the diverse Asian, Pacific Islander, and Asian American students of Fordham at the Rose Hill campus as well as in its surrounding communities. ACE strives to provide opportunities for others to learn about the social, cultural, historical, and intellectual pursuits of the Asian community. Through our efforts, we work towards an improved understanding of the wide variety of political, social, academic, cultural, and artistic interests of the various Asian cultures.
Fordham University South Asian Entity (FUSE)
F.U.S.E. (Fordham University, South-Asian Entity) was formed to promote appreciation and awareness of the South Asian culture and heritage that exists at Fordham University. We are a social, cultural and professional organization striving to maintain and share our South Asian heritage. We aim to diversify ourselves with the other communities on campus as well as creating awareness about our backgrounds. In this coming semester we will hold various events that will allow the students of Fordham University to expand their horizons as they build a strong and multicultural community.

Korean Students Association (KSA)
Our main goal is to establish a community where students can come together to network, share experiences, and engage in various cultural and social activities. The association encourages non-Korean students to step out of the American lifestyle and explore others. KSA will help freshman and transfer students to adapt to a new environment by creating a friendly and supportive community. KSA will also raise awareness of Korean culture and traditions on campus by hosting prominent Korean American guest speakers, organizing food tastings events, and distributing communication newsletters.
Both campuses at Fordham have a very, very large Chinese international student population, but they keep to themselves even if you can speak Chinese. There is also a decent amount of Asian Americans though, especially in the clubs mentioned above.
